     From Marshville, North Carolina, Lydia Hill has always had a passion for the agriculture industry. Growing up on a cow/calf operation and around a family-owned business,  she quickly understood the value of hard work and grit. In high school, she joined FFA and discovered her passion for leadership and advocacy. In her years of FFA, she showed cattle, judged livestock and meat, held various officer positions and competed in job interview.

      Hill currently resides in Tifton, Georgia, where she attends Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She is expected to graduate in May 2027 with a B.S. in Agriculture Communication and a minor in Agribusiness. During her time as an undergrad, she has received various awards and held multiple leadership positions while in school. 

     After graduation, she hopes to find a job and move westward to better understand how farming works outside the Southeast in order to become a well-versed individual in agriculture. Her favorite aspects of her major are public speaking, social media management and leadership opportunities. 

      Long-term, Hill's goal is to utilize her creativity and leadership skills to advocate for agriculture, specifically the cattle industry. She sees herself in a leadership or entrepreneurial role in the future because she believes in the power of advocacy to advance a more sustainable industry. When asked what kind of job she wants, her immediate answer is “I want to have the freedom to interact with other individuals involved in agriculture or willing to learn more about the industry in hopes of making a long-lasting impact. "

      When not at school, work or a conference, Hill enjoys cooking, reading, spending time outdoors and shopping for more books.
